Ending a River Flood Event (5 min) - Hazard Services

Purpose:

In this jobsheet you will end a river flood event. This jobsheet should be done with CAVE in practice mode after the local focal has configured Hazard Services and prepared fake forecast points in flood and you have created a river flood event in the previous jobsheet.

Tasks:

1. There are three methods to end a river flood product:
   1. Console: Right-click the hazard row and select "End This".
   2. Spatial Display: Left-click on the polygon to select it. It will become hatched and the HID will appear. Right-click and hold to select Manage hazards -> End This.
   3. River Flood Recommender: Run the RFR. Once the event is listed in the console as ENDING, select it and review the HID (requires hydro database to recommend ending).
       
2. This example will use the Spatial Display to right click on the polygon and select Manage hazards-> End This to end the event. To do this, first select a river flood hazard to end (e.g. FL.A).
   
3. Right click on the polygon and select Manage hazards -> End This.
   
4. The event will be placed in the ENDING status in the Console, and the ending options will be available in the HID. Click "Preview".
   
5. Modify text for your product in the Product Editor and click "Issue All".
   
6. Click “Issue” when the “Live Active Product” dialog opens.
   
7. The hazard will be changed to ENDED and will be filtered from the Console and Spatial Display. Note that if you have ended the last remaining river hazard, then you should work with your focal point to ensure a river flood warning exists prior to the next forecaster starting the initial jobsheets.
