VI. A Note on any of your Site's Procedures/Perspectives that use the content from the TOWR-S RPM

In the TOWR-S RPM released in May 2017, and effective in all follow-on RPM releases, the paths to the color tables changed so that a "GOES-R" sub-directory appears in the path to the GOES-16-related colormaps.  This requires that sites update/correct any local perspectives or procedures they may have already created which involve the GOES-16 imagery.

As an example, a local procedure was created at a site while version 1 of the RPM was installed (initial release in March 2017), and it contains a GOES-16 CONUS IR image.  There is a line in the procedure (xml) file that points to a colormap path and and the color map file for CAVE.  That path was active in v1 of the RPM when the procedure was saved, and it points to the old path to the color tables. The path in the V1 RPM configs is:

In the config RPM deployed to OT&E sites in April, and to remaining sites in May 2017, the paths to the colormaps are adjusted for clarity. The above entry will cause a bundle load error in CAVE unless the procedure file line is changed to:

The path to the individual xml files comprising these procedures files is (e.g. from dx1):
/awips2/edex/data/utility/cave_static/user/<username_name>/procedures/  (or perspectives for saved perspectives).  Search each of the files for "colorMapName" and replace "Sat" with "GOES-R" (as shown above).
 
Paul Jendrwoski has a script that will assist in converting procedures so that they will work with the updated colormap file name paths.  More details can be found here.
