Purpose:
This task demonstrates how to use a text window to access the attribute and adaptable parameter information embedded within a VWP product.Tasks:
Assumptions:
- The AWIPS-2 database of radar products currently contains a VWP product.
- If on the WES-2 Bridge, from the CAVE menu, select New, then select Text Workstation to load a text workstation, and left-click on Text 1 in the Text Workstation window.
- In the “AFOS Cmd:” Text Field, enter the following Text: “WSRVWPXXX”, where XXX is the last three letters of the RPG ID and press the <Enter> key (e.g. WSRVWPOKC on WES-2 Bridge test case).
- Request any desired RPG alphanumeric products in a similar fashion.
- Swap VWP with the three-letter identifier for the desired alphanumeric product.
- Alphanumeric products from other radars in your local AWIPS-2 database are obtained by switching the last three letters to a different RPG ID.
