Acquisition and Grants Office Templates:
The Director of NOAA's Acquisition and Grants Office (AGO) has issued Acquisition Alert (AA) 17-02 in order to disseminate the AGO acquisition templates to be utilized for the documentation of acquisition relation actions.

New Policy and Procedure: The AA is applicable to all NOAA Line and Staff Offices. The AGO acquisition templates shall be utilized when preparing the documentation associated with actions required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). Use of an acquisition template shall not substitute the need for examination and understanding of the requirements of the FAR, Department of Commerce acquisition policy, and NOAA acquisition policy. The following acquisition templates are mandatory for use, unless a waiver has been granted by the NOAA Senior Bureau Procurement Official (SBPO).
- Limited Sources or Brand Name Justification above the micro-purchase threshold and up to the simplified acquisition threshold (SAT) (FAR 8.405-6)
- Limited Sources or Brand Name Justification above the SAT (FAR 8.405-6)
- Single Source Determination using SAP above the micro-purchase threshold and up to the SAT (FAR 13.106(b)(1)
- Sole Source or Brand Name Justification using SAP exceeding the SAT for Certain Commercial Items (FAR 13.501)
- Justification for an Exception to Fair Opportunity for an order over the Micro-Purchase Threshold and up to the SAT (FAR 16.505(b)(2)(i)
