COMET Partners is a UCAR sponsored collaboration between NWS and COMET that helps to develop and execute cooperative Education and training projects between academic institutions and weather forecast offices.  These proposed projects are submitted for review by the WFO's sponsoring region and then reviewed by a region outside of the one that the WFO is in.  They are typically $15K, $20K with UCAR overhead and take about 6-12 months to complete.
