I am a graduate of Tesst College located in Beltsville, MD. previously known as TESST Technology and Computer Institute where I graduated in 1997 in the Office Computer Application Program, and Business Management. Currently enrolled at the University of Phoenix on-line pursuing a degree in Business Administration. For the past 8 years I have supported the NWS IA office in the areas of International Travel. Here I provide oversight on foreign travel procedures, to include eCC, travel authorizations, vouchers, guidance on regulations, policy, travel briefings, passports, visas, and my overall knowledge, and expertise as a professional in this business.
I have worked as a government contractor for the past 20 years, supporting various Federal agencies in which I held a Security Clearance for 10 years in support of these programs, such as (AMS) Aerial Measurement Survey, (HEU) Highly Enriched Uranium, (NEST) Nuclear Emergency Search Team and (DTRA) Defense Threat Reduction Agency. I have trained, and facilitated emergency operations travel with a minimum of 2 hour advance notice, as it pertained to the Emergency Response Mission, project support, as well as generate, and maintained the schedule for the scientific and technical staff, and served as a RAD Worker on specific DOE programs.
I have extensive training in areas of international travel to include training at the Department of State on eCC’s, and the Department of Energy on Visas and passports. I helped coordinate, and attended The Department of Energy's/NNSA Foreign Travel Workshop at the Oak Ridge National Laboratory in Oak Ridge Tennessee, and the Foreign Travel Workshop at the Fermi Labs in Chicago, Illinois where emphases were geared on , travel regulations, policy, airport security, and counter intelligence debriefings from international travel. While working within the DOE/NNSA theater, I supported offices in China, Russian Federation, Vienna, Georgia,Ukraine and reported directly to the Directors of these offices concurrently, where I prepared foreign travel for invitational travelers supporting these programs. Assistance included budget, TDY relocation, and foreign travel authorizations where the agencies had a presence in those countries.
I have coordinated briefing materials for Department of Defense (DTRA) and coordinated travel logistics for more than 50 attendees for meetings at any given time. I find the work I do rewarding in being able to assist people in the area of international travel. This is just a short brief of my experience over the past 20 years. I look forward to growing with NWS/IA, and providing my skill set to further the support the mission of a Weather Ready Nation.
