OGC Fed Marine SDI - 2023 - Phase 4 (Active)

Participants and POC

Speaker:  Jérôme Jacovella-St-Louis (Ecere)

Email: jerome@ecere.com

Presentation:  Digital Twin of Land and Sea Interfaces – Singapore

OGC Standards Planned to be used: Tiles, DGGS (GNOSIS Global Grid and ISEA9R), Coverages, Features, 3D GeoVolumes, Maps, Styles, Routes, Processes

Plans to use NOAA data: Yes

Study Focal Areas: Demonstration could use several global datasets, including sentinel-2 data cube currently available from our demonstration end-point ( https://maps.gnosis.earth/ogcapi/collections/sentinel2-l2a ), global elevation, GEBCO bathymetry, and more. We could also load most relevant high-resolution datasets for the area of interest.   Although we would like to focus more Technology Integration Experiments with other clients and servers, and on relevant datasets and scenario demonstration for this new FMSDI phase, we are still interested in continuing to demonstrate the value of DGGS and of OGC API – DGGS for data integration, in particular the use of the GNOSIS Global Grid, ISEA9R and ISEA3H DGGS on which we focused in FMSDI Phase 3.

Speaker:  Gordon Plunkett (ESRI Canada)

Email: gplunkett@esri.ca

Presentation: Methodology for Arctic data discovery and integration

OGC Standards Planned to be used: ESRI Product Suite

Plans to use NOAA data: Yes

Study Focal Areas: Address data integration issues along the coastline of the Arctic, in the context of a Digital Arctic/Twin and climate change impacts scenario.  Design standards-based methods that support discovery and integration of land/marine geospatial information.

Speaker: Andrew Bell (OceanWise Limited)

Email: andrew.bell@oceanwise.eu

Presentation:  D103 Instance: Persistent Demonstration - Caribbean

OGC Standards Planned to be used:

Plans to use NOAA data: Yes.

Study Focal Areas: Milestone 1 - Marine Themes Dataset for Caribbean Island State (Existing established specification and production toolset, Requires receipt of navigational (IHO S-57 or S-101) source data, Aim to deliver in GML/GeoPackage format within 8 weeks).  Milestone 2 – Persistent Demonstrator (D103) (Data collection, management and dissemination system, Port-Log, Request permission from UKHO to use MEMS instance, Add Marine Themes (and other) datasets to Web Map interface)

Speaker:  Jason MacDonald (Compusult limited)

Email: jasonm@compusult.net

Presentation: Underpinning climate actions with AI Meta Twins (15 min)

OGC Standards Planned to be used: OGC API Records, OGC API Processes, OGC API Coverages, OGC API EDR

Plans to use NOAA data: Unknown

Study Focal Areas: Identify type(s) of data needed for Land and Sea use cases, Find available datasets (data cubes), Apply best-fit algorithm that provides users with the information related to predictions/indicators of Land and Sea ineraction, Conduct usability study to identify the type of information needed by the target audience and the format in which information needs to be presented, Use the Web Enterprise Suite (WES) web portal to provide access to a catalog of information and services that will be used to provide a common operation picture of the scenarios.

Speaker: Byron Antoniou (HARTIS)

Email: byron.antoniou@hartis.org

Presentation:  Proposed FMDI Pilot Use Case for Caribbean

OGC Standards Planned to be used:

Plans to use NOAA data: Unknown

Study Focal Areas: Implement a location service for potential offshore wind farms (OWFs).  Bring the service as close as possible to a Offshore Wind Farm Decision Support Service (OWF-DSS).  The OWF-DSS will help in the selection of the best area where marine and land electricity grid infrastructure shall meet.  Area of Interest is the islands of Anguilla, the British Virgin Islands, the Cayman Islands, and the Turks and Caicos Islands

Speaker: Ajay Gupta (HSR.health)

Email: agupta@healthsolutionsresearch.org

Presentation:  FMSDI Pilot 2023 D101-3: Arctic & Caribbean

OGC Standards Planned to be used:

Plans to use NOAA data: Unknown

Study Focal Areas: Curate health data in the Arctic and Caribbean, Create a health index or indicator aligned with a use case(s) developed with the fellow pilot participants, sponsors, stakeholders, Develop a persistent demonstrator for the use case(s), Curate health indicators that can be obtained from marine data, Provide documentation on interoperability between a FMSDI and health sector data repositories (Health SDI, Health Data Retrieval API)

Speaker: Glenn Laughlin (Pelagi)

Email: glennlaughlin@pelagis.io

Presentation:  FMSDI Pilot 2023 D101-3: Arctic & Caribbean

OGC Standards Planned to be used: OGC GeoDCAT, OGC OMS, OGC Connected Systems

Plans to use NOAA data: Yes

Study Focal Areas:  D101 Methodology for Discovery & Integration of Land & Sea, D102 Persistent Demonstration – Digital Arctic

Speaker: Dr. Peng Yue (Wuhan University)
