exceeding maximum dlinks

Hello,

I'm getting a message to "increase the maximum number of dlinks" when I run the Gulf of Mexico red snapper model in 3.24P with several levels of complexity beyond that of the base model.

Specifically, age-selectivity of two discard fleets is mirrored to the respective directed fleet; when I un-mirror both of them and try to specify the time-varying parameters I get the error message. The model runs without issue when only one of the two fleets is un-mirrored (either one).

I've seen posts about increasing the max number of dlinks in other ADMB models but I'm not sure how to do so in SS. Could this issue be resolved simply by using a newer version of 3.24? I was concerned about encountering new debugging issues upon switching to a newer version.

Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Steve,

The problem you have encountered will be hard to diagnose in general as it is happening at the ADMB level.  I recommend you upgrade to the newest SS3.24 as a start.  If that doesn't fix it, please get back in touch.

3.24P is now 4 years old and there have been several tweaks and fixes to 3.24 since then.  It is now at 3.24AB.  You can consult the change log in the documentation folder on this site to see what has changes since 3.24P.  Only the change to the forecast file in 3.24V changes the input format.
