Which version of Stock Synthesis should I be using? We recommend that users use the latest release or fix version of Stock Synthesis. Due to improvements in Stock Synthesis, we recommend converting SS3.24 models to SS3.30.
How do I upgrade my SS3.24 model to SS3.30?A first step to try is using the 3.30.17 ss_trans executable to automatically translate the 3.24 model to 3.30 using guidance in the Converting Files from SS v.3.24 section of the user manual. Please contact the SS3 development team for help any conversion issues.
How can I request help with using Stock Synthesis? The SS3 user manual is a good place to start along with the getting started with SS3 guide and the develop an SS3 model guide. You can also ask the SS3 community (and SS3 development team) for assistance by submitting a post to the Forums or email the SS3 development team with your question at nmfs.stock.synthesis@noaa.gov.
