Timeline - VLab Showcase
Content: Timeline
The example Timeline to the right is for the VLab project itself.
Although constructing a Timeline is more complex than some of the other, more simple portlets available in VLab, it provides a slick, modern, and appealing way to present timestamped data and events. You can associate media files (image and video) to each event, though such media files are not required.
What is a Timeline?
A Timeline is a sophisticated suite of web content elements that work together to present a modern-looking display, showing multiple time-related events, each for specific dates (or date ranges) in time.
Although Timelines look better with related media (images, videos, etc), such related media is not required.
What is it good for?
Perhaps obviously, a Timeline is good for when you have time-related milestones or events that you wish to present to users in a way that is interrelated. (These milestones and events can represent both points in time and time ranges.)
How Do I Use It?
The VLab User Guide has a section for adding Timelines to your community page.
It describes how the various Web Content pieces can be created and related.
