Left-side Nav - VLab Showcase
Left-side Navigation
What is Left-side Navigation
Most VLab Communities have pages with the main Page Navigation along the top of the landing page. There is an option to utilize a Left-side Page Navigation menu instead of (or even along with) the top Navigation bar, which vertically stacks pages on the left (instead of horizontally along the top) and allows for expanding/contracting sub-menus/sub-pages. You can even add a toggle icon to allow users to hide the Left-side Nav bar completely.
What is it good for?
The use of a Left-side Navigation bar may be at times just a cosmetic choice, but it can be useful when you want your page content to fit all in one view (without the need to scroll) and you need a bite more vertical space than horizontal space. It may also be useful if you use a Page Template other than the basic VLab Community template.
How Do I Use It?
- Go to the Page's Configuration
- From the far-left community management menu
- 3-dot menu for the page of interest
- "Configure Page"
- Select the "Look and Feel" tab.
- Select "Define a specific look and feel for this page" and then toggle on"show-left-menu".
- You can also de-toggle the top menu, and add a collapse icon that can hide the Left-side Navigation menu.
