Banner - VLab Showcase
Look & Feel: Banner
A Banner can be *any* image. The suggestion here to be showcased is the idea of the Community Title underlain by some appealing image, but instead of a title, you can use a slogan or quote or other pertinent text. The overlay can be any color or pattern and the underlain image can be anything as well. You can go for a light theme, dark theme, colorful background, pattern background, etc. If this idea appeals to you, but are uncertain exactly what elements to use, ask the VLab Support Team for help.
(The size of the example banners below has been reduced for ease of displaying multiple banners.)

What is a Banner?
A "Banner" in VLab is a piece of Web Content that is an image with the community name in it, intended to span the entire width of your community web page. It can be placed on the landing page only or all pages. The image style can take a variety of forms.
What is it good for?
A Banner can help identify your community and to distinguish it from other VLab communities. It is good for communities that have members who are likely to be members of other VLab communities - and also good for communities that are largely open to the public, as the banner can make the community feel more like typical modern web page.
How Do I Use It?
As the Banner in this context is just an image in Web Content, you can create your own image and upload it into Web Content portlet, or you can ask the VLab Support Team to assist with the creation of your Custom Banner image (like what is being showcased here).
Also, please see the Banner Section of the User Guide which will explain some additional CSS that will make the banner look and behave better.
