We noticed that when we append the EF scale in an LSR for a tornado, the output in IRIS does not appear. Is this a known issue in IRIS?
Thanks.

Hi Andy,I'm looping in Greg Schoor on this email. I do see an issue with IRIS which stems to a situation some years ago in which we rectified someinconsistencies between IRIS and the directive. If you look at the directive (https://www.nws.noaa.gov/directives/sym/pd01005017curr.pdf), on the last page in Appendix B, it indicates thatan event magnitude is not included for a tornado. However, in the table on page 15, in the EMAG section, one of the examples isEF4. I believe what happened is we changed the formatter to exclude the magnitude for tornadoes, but forgot to remove the selectioncomponent, but it's ambiguous to me whether we should or should not be including it in the LSR product. Also, if we were to do so, what should the formatbe? EEF2, MEF1, UEF1?Thanks,MattOn Wed, Dec 18, 2019 at 2:23 PM Matt Davis <VLab.Notifications@noaa.gov> wrote:Hi Andy, I will check on it.Thanks,MattOn Wed, Dec 18, 2019 at 11:08 AM Andy Kula <VLab.Notifications@noaa.gov> wrote:We noticed that when we append the EF scale in an LSR for a tornado, the output in IRIS does not appear.
