AWIPS 20.2.2 Available March 2021

Greetings!

 

A lot has happened schedule-wise in the AWIPS world, so I wanted to provide an update.

 

AWIPS 20.2.1 has been combined with 20.2.2, and that will be the next major release posted here on the AWIPS Tech Lib.  20.2.2 is in the last stages of Beta testing, and if all goes well I expect to post it for download by the week of 3/22/21.


In a bit of good (ok, great) news, the NWS now has permission to post the legacy binLightning decoding software.  This means that starting with 20.2.2, the only proprietary content removed from the public AWIPS release is FSI and the text-to-speech engine used for BMH.

I know the NWS won't respond with install directions if you contact them, but is there any plan to at least provide a install guide in the future? Right now it's nearly impossibly to download...

Missing Dependencies

for any reasons i put ./ade_quick_install.sh, it fails and lists all of the missing dependencies that was required.
