Thin Client Proxy Server

Is there a way to get the AWIPS II Thin client under Windows to not search for a proxy server, and instead connect to an external EDEX server? I normally use Unidata's AWIPS build but I'd like to see if I can get the Raytheon build to work under Windows 11.

Thanks!

RE: Thin Client Proxy Server

I too would like to know if there is a way to use an external EDEX. I was able to do this in previous builds, but forgot how I was able to do that.

Yes, just don't use the link on your desktop. Well you can, but you have to modify the shortcut so it points to 'cave.exe'. Go to where cave is installed and copy 'cave.exe' to your desktop or wherever. Mine connects to EDEX no prob.

Even the Unidata EDEX? I constantly get "Unable to validate localization preferences"
