GOES-16 Color Tables

Although it appears that we have Goes-16 color tables in our Awips, installed back in February, they look like 8 bit tables with a wrap-around from the high values back to low. 

How do we ensure that we have the correct color tables?

The easiest way to ensure you have the correct color tables is to edit the colormap, if the default is greater than 256 colors than it is GOES-16.  This would be true of any of the GOES-16 individual bands.  Some of the channel difference products and baseline products may have 256 or fewer colors, however.
