Allison Cusick - Introduction

Hello my name is Allison Cusick. I am a graduate student in the Biological Oceanography PhD program with Dr. Maria Vernet at Scripps Inst. of Oceanography. I run a citizen science program in Antarctica with tour ships called FjordPhyto, looking at how melting glaciers might impact phytoplankton on the coast. We recently received funding from NASA to collect in-the-field samples from the Antarctic Peninsula that will help ground truth remote sensing satellite products (FjordPhyto one of eight funded projects). The PIs Vernet and Dr. Rick Reynolds mentioned a collaboration with NOAA coast Polar Watch and I saw this course. I'm very excited to meet everyone and participate.
