WSUP Viewer v4.4 Release

WSUP Viewer v4.4 was released on 03/09/2022. Please see version notes below.
 

New Features:

  • Many new stations have been added, including buoys, oil platforms, C-MAN stations, and island stations in Micronesia and Polynesia

  • Map Display:

    • New elements:

      • NBM v4.1 Alaska Sea Ice Concentration and Thickness

      • NBM v4.1 CONUS Aviation Weather Center Primary, Secondary, Tertiary, and High Cloud Layer elements

      • NDFD CONUS Snow-to-Liquid Ratio

    • The Export Image and Animated GIF Creator tools now support user-specified aspect ratios and facilitate sharing graphics with NOAA and non-NOAA partners via unique Amazon Cloud URLs that can be publicly accessed for 14 days

    • An expanded GEFS Oceanic domain replaces the legacy Pacific domain

    • NBM Global domain upper-air wind barbs

    • Diagnostic Performance Monitor tool that calculates the average transfer speed of element image downloads and the average server response time needed to generate those images. This is available in the Map View Options by clicking the 3 horizontal lines in the upper-right corner.

    • New VIL color curve

  • Point Vis:

    • URMA snow-to-liquid ratio

    • Observations from URMA stations

    • NBM bias-corrected wind speed data added to violin plot

    • The Save plot image option in the upper right corner now supports user-specified aspect ratios and facilitate sharing graphics with NOAA and non-NOAA partners via unique Amazon Cloud URLs that can be publicly accessed for 14 days

  • 1D:

    • NBM v4.1 Alaska Sea Ice Concentration and Thickness elements

    • NBM v4.1 AWC Cloud Layer elements

    • Added PMaxSpeed24 and PMaxGust24 to Probability of Exceedance graphs

Bug Fixes:

  • Map Display:

    • Stations west of the Dateline are now selectable

    • NBM VIL for the Hawaii and Puerto Rico domains are now available

    • Dropdown menus no longer extend off the bottom of the screen with short browser windows

  • Point Vis:

    • Short browser windows no longer cause the calendar picker or forecast fields table to be obscured

  • 1D:

    • Corrected box widths of 12-, 24-, 48-, and 72-hour elements

    • Corrected horizontal placement of MaxT and MinT boxes

What does "Observations from URMA stations" refer to in the point visualization wrt new functionality in release 4.4?

Hi Mike,

Those are the observations at that station as provided by the URMA group. It allows you to compare how URMA compares to the observation at the same point.
