PQPF (Mean)/WIC data displayed in Component Point Vis

I was checking out the great offerings of your incorporating WIC records info into the WSUP, and after finding a site (KLIT) that was possibly going to have a record rainfall on an upcoming day, I wanted to more closely compare the component inputs, AND I was hoping I might see lines to compare values of NBM QPF, PQPF (Mean), NDFS, and other components, vs the record WIC amount.

But I did not see the NBM PQPF (Mean) displayed in the Component Vis

Any chance of adding the PQPF (Mean) QPF to Point Vis displays, if not already there, and I missed it?

BTW, kind of nice agreement between the NBM PQPF Mean 2-D display (from 06UTC) compared with the same time period in 20UTC (14 hours later) NDFD.  In general, looks like NDFD shaved off amounts, from NBM PQPF Mean amounts.

Hi Jack,

Thanks for checking out the WIC records! I'm glad you're finding them useful.

Where we don't provide the line for Daily Total Accumulation for the Mean specifically, we do provide the accumulation periods (6-hours) for each percentile. The daily accumulation period (to match the record period) is the 24 hour period ending at 6Z. Check out the link below to take a deeper look. The WIC line can also be added to the plot by clicking the WIC Records button. It will appear as the red dotted line over the 6Z-6Z period.

However, it appears that the record plot is off by 1 day in the middle chart. I will check with the developers when they return from leave.

Thanks for the response Dana, and for that comment that the WIC may be off a day.  

 

I MAY have found another instance of the WIC record being plotted being off a day, but I'm not sure.  I was investigating the record MaxT (80) for Dec 25 at DFW.  In trying to view the various forecasts and d/(prog)/dt info, along with the WIC, I first set the time to be a period ending 06Z on Dec 26, as can be seen in the graphic below.  In doing so, I think it may be keying in on the record for Dec 26 (83), and not the 25th.  Though I may have loaded improperly.

Both records are likely to be matched or beaten, BTW.

Jack,

 

An update was released today that should correct the shift in Point Vis WIC MaxT and daily precip record data. Let us know if you still encounter issues.
