WSUP Viewer v3.2 was
released on 7/14/2021. Please see version notes below.
New Features:
-
Map Display:
-
Weather In Context (WIC) window and overlay (new)
-
A pop-up window activated by clicking the thermometer
icon on the options menu bar to the right of the map
displays WIC record data for NBM MaxT, MinT, and daily
total QPF at ThreadEx stations (when the WIC overlay is
active). Record data can also be shown by clicking on
ThreadEx stations. This functionality was borrowed from
WPC’s Weather in Context prototype at https://www.wpc.ncep.noaa.gov/hmt/weather_in_context/prototype/index.php.
-
New NBM elements:
-
Probabilistic 24-hr Max Wind Speed and Gust family (4.1)
-
Thunderstorm Coverage (4.1)
-
Daily Total QPF and PQPF (4.0 and 4.1)
-
PQPF06 Mean (4.0 and 4.1)
-
Imagery for the previously-selected valid time is now
automatically displayed upon change of element, date, hour,
dataset, or domain
-
Option to display i, j grid coordinates in the cursor readout
has been added near the bottom of the Map View Options menu
-
NBM Component Weights Viewer (new)
-
Weights used to blend individual NBM model components can be
displayed at stations. The model weights for any forecast hour
sum to 100%. A dWeights/dt Mode is provided to show how model
weights have changed from week to week.
-
The weights viewer can be accessed from the station pop-up on
the map viewer or directly at https://wsup.mdl.nws.noaa.gov/nbmweights
-
NBM 1D:
-
Point Vis:
-
Violin plot now provides a choice of Variable Y or Full
spread Y axes
-
Bias-Corrected NBM Components can now be optionally displayed
on main graph
-
NBM PoPs (PoP12, PoP06, and PoP01) can now be displayed on
main graph
-
Station locations now match MOS station lat/lons and use 4
significant digits
-
Added Death Valley, CA station along with various ThreadEx stations
Bug Fixes:
-
Map Display:
-
The placement of imagery was shifted a few pixels to the SW
-
The dProg/dt and Auto Update buttons now function properly
-
Edge cases in which the legend init date was incorrect
-
Map refreshes properly on page resize
-
Point Vis:
-
OCONUS data would fail to display when page was loaded from bookmark
-
When exiting dProg/dt mode, the vertical line in the top
chart that corresponds to the date/time of the wind rose and
violin plots would become skewed at times
