VLab Forum Members,

The March 2023 VLab Forum will occur on Friday, the 24th, at 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM (Eastern Time). The talk features a presentation titled "Radar Application Update" which is being presented by Brian Miretzky, Dr. Danielle Nagele, Paul Kirkwood, and Nipa Parikh. We hope you can attend.

To participate in the forum, please register for the webinar.

Abstract:

In Dec. 2020 a new NWS Radar Application radar.weather.gov was rolled out publicly. Many issues arose that caused problems for users. Some fixes occurred over time and when Ken Graham become new NWS director, he made it a top priority to fix permanently. A major fix was put in place between Summer and Fall 2022. There is another set of changes planned for Summer 2023 and then the hope is this application will provide radar data to the public for years to come. Future plans and lessons learned will also be presented.
