Abstract:
A new generation of streamflow and flood inundation geospatial services has been deployed with sustained support from Weather Program Office development and research supplemental funding. These mapping services provide near-real time visualizations of inundation based on National Water Model and River Forecast Centers, and streamflow and other hydrologic parameters from the National Water Model. These map services are now being produced on an enterprise GIS configuration hosted in the cloud through an Office of Water Prediction collaboration with the Office of Dissemination. User access is provided currently to River Forecast Centers and Weather Forecast Office hydrology leads, with expanded access added gradually in 2022 and beyond. This talk will describe these services and present a technical discussion of their IT and hydrologic components.
