Hi all,

I wonder if the SS3 have a function to predicting the future biomass in 5 or 10 years.

 Thanks.

Yes.  The forecast.ss file allows the user how far out in the future to estimate biomass based on assumed future removal.  In the forecast file the line "#_Nforecastyrs" is where one would put in how many years out to estimate.  The forecast file offers a wide range of options to predict future removals based on SPR, MSY, Btarget reference points along with some specific harvest control rules.  Additionally, at the bottom of the file you can specify exactly the future removal assumptions by year and fleet.  Please review the forecast section of the manual carefully.  Also, make sure to also check two lines in the starter file to ensure that the Report file will contain all forecast years.  Here is an example of how to set the needed lines in the starter file:

-1 # min yr for sdreport outputs (-1 for styr); #_1947
-2 # max yr for sdreport outputs (-1 for endyr+1; -2 for endyr+Nforecastyrs)
