The version 10.4 release of ForecastBuilder is out and available for installation. Given that offices are working through HCI migration and the legacy systems only have a month left, installation of this release is only expected on HCI systems (documentation is written for HCI only). Please refer to the ForecastBuilder documentation for both a list of updates and the installation procedure. For those updating the install is quick and easy.
Some of the highlights for this release: 1) NBM precipitation type method supports both NBM V4.0 and V4.1, allowing for a seamless transition between the two 2) Consistency checker looking at spreads between MaxT, MinT and T 3) The "Derive hourly T" algorithm will now get hourly T values to within 1-2 degrees of Max/Min in most situations 4) Ability to utilize NCEP Air Quality Blowing Dust model output to populate PotBlowingDust 5) Ability to maintain grid edits during the full cron period (for those offices that run the full cron)
Training: No training is given for this release...because...a new ForecastBuilder training group is working on a whole new Training Plan for ForecastBuilder with release by Sept 1. This training will give everyone a detailed overview of ForecastBuilder, including items such as vision, knobology, efficiently working with NBM p-type and more.
As always I thank all the various support groups and individuals for their hard work on ForecastBuilder, and feedback from others! If you have any questions, always feel free to e-mail nws.forecastbuilder@noaa.gov or post here on the VLAB forum.
