As the title states ForecastBuilder version 10.3 has been released. No forecaster training is associated with this release as most of the changes are "under the hood." However, tropical sites can view the updated training which accounts for a few tropical related changes for the 2022 season.
The big item with this release is cron changes. If your office is using the cron you will need to adjust it per the install instructions. Additionally, this release provides the capability of a QPF only cron in preparation for phase 2 of the CFP. This too is documented in the install instructions.
Looking ahead to the next release, 10.4, which will come out sometime during the summer. A few things on the list include: a variety of code cleanup, start building up code for utilizing NBM V4.1 precipitation type, snow and ice accumulation.
Lastly, an effort is underway to revamp the ForecastBuilder training and have that completed by next fall. Related to training, and given the interest to have NBM percentile data in ForecastBuilder, one of the training modules will discuss how to most effectively utilize NBM percentile data for NDFD.
As always I want to thank everyone involved with ForecastBuilder for their efforts!
