 The Model Evaluation Group (MEG) community is established to interact with the user community on issues related to the forecast systems of NCEP's Environmental Modeling Center (EMC).    It is used to discuss overall model performance and provide feedback on operational and parallel versions of the models which comprise the production suite.

      One final post for the night, I promise......

      The official evaluation period for the FV3GFS is now completed.   Centers and NWS Regional SSDs will get information soon, via the ModeEvalInfo listserv, on how to complete their forms.   Note that even though the official evaluation period is over,  all graphics sites will be maintained up until implementation.

          I'd also like to point out that the MEG has put together plots of multiple parameters for multiple cycles of a long list of high-impact cases from the past 3 years      They're available at

We've taken some initial looks at the data, but there is more on that page than we could possibly scrutinize, so we encourage users to examine cases of interest to their region or specialty.

        We appreciate the time so many people have taken to validate the FV3GFS.    Your comments are still most welcome, and this forum is still the appropriate place to share them.     Thank you.
