Problem Installing Forecast Builder

Hi,

 

I'm at WFO Mobile and am installing ForecastBuilder here to check it out.  I ran the install_ForecastBuilder,sh script which also downloaded the PowtMethodology package.  The odd thing is that despite the package install seeming to go ok, none of the procedures or smartTools were installed.  I can easily just install them manually, but first wanted to see if I messed somthing up.

Dave,

  I've heard of a similar issue at Wakefield, VA.  I need to figure out why the install is having problems in some other regions, though I know it works okay in WR.  One hypothesis has been userRoles, as that has become a bigger problem in very recent AWIPS builds (specifically 17.1.3 and later). Will keep you updated as I find out more.

Could this be an issue where the awips user does not have the GFE Focal Point and Site Admin defined roles/permissions?

Hi Mike,


I was talking with our ITO and we suspect that the userRoles are an issue.  I tried installing ForecastBuilder as my user, but it said it has to be done by user awips.

 

Our ITO will check into it tomorrow.

Hi Andy,

 

Was just speaking with our ITO, and we're thinking it's userRoles as well.  He's going to work on the userRoles issue tomorrow and will let you know how it goes.

Good news - our ITO was able to sucessfully install ForecastBuilder.  It turns out that the userRoles for user awips was a problem.
