Aviation Populate (Forecast Builder)

I've been attempting to start using the forecast builder for aviation grids.  We typically run our aviation forecast grids out beyond the required 36 hours because we have a grid derived off of Ceiling for fire weather purposes.  However, the problem I've been running into is that the CONSHORT does not even go out to 36 hours.  Everytime you run Aviation_Populate, the first thing it does is wipe out your grids.  I'd like to have the ability to populate with a model out to the desired time frame, then run it again to populate with CONSHORT in the short term.  Is this something that can be fixed or corrected?  Thanks!

Kevin, The GMAT discussed your questions on our last team call (Friday the 14th) and acknowledge that we need to work on standardization of the FireWx grids and tools for the region and NWS as a whole. The problem with ceilings beyond the CONSShort time period is a lack of good data to blend making any model derived ceiling grid of questionable value. We will look further into this issue as part of a comprehensive review and recommendation for FireWx grids and how they tie into other grids along with the ForecastBuilder methodology.
