HazardBuilder Questions

A few quick questions on HazardBuilder:

  1. Is there a way to "pause" the flash of HazardBuilder at the end of the ForecastBuilder procedure? It's hard to evaluate when it just flashes and then goes away. Could a "pause" option be added at the end of MergeWx?
  2. When viewing the new HazardBuilder WeatherElement group, the grids aren't highlighted in colors. However, I see there is now a HazardBuilder option under the Populate menu, and there's an option to just re-highlight the grids. Is this the only way to view the highlighting? Otherwise there doesn't appear to be a way to view the highlighted grids.

  We are definitely looking at the option of pausing after Wx creation. When the idea of operating with HazardBuilder first came up, at least the integration within ForecastBuilder, the idea was for the grids to mainly be focused in the Foundation Grids step. However, we really see the need for the pause. So look for this in the next ForecastBuilder update.

  Regarding colors, there is a suite of code in the Foundation Grids step that applies the colors. Unfortunately as you unload weather elements these colors go away.  There is a HazardBuilder procedure under the Populate menu which you can run it and I think it will load in the HazardBuilder Weather Element group and highlight the grids for you. My recommendation, and I think this is really neat, is open up ForecastBuilder and choose Today Through Day 7 and go to the default Foundation Grids step. This will show you all concerning weather types and time periods of them.

Ah okay, starting with the foundational grids step looks like an easy way to view it - I've never started FB this way since I'm either working short term (and thus populating those foundational grids mainly using short-range guidance "manually" and collaborating, getting to FB once I'm done with most of the grids) or long term (where the foundational step is done by the cron). Thanks for the suggestion!

I'm assuming I should hold off suggestions about HB until it is further developed? I know the April 2017 Changes video talked a little about HB - is there any additional documentation or roadmap available? Just curious to learn more about where we're going with this.
