CYS Wind Verification

Over the last few weeks I have compiled stats on our wind forecasts compared to the models for the past wind season.   This is a point verification, comparing forecasts at a particular gridpoint to the corresponding WYDOT or ASOS site.   We did very well overall at the CYS office, outperforming SuperBlend when the verifying winds are highest and impacts are greatest!   The excel files have the stats broken down by individual sites, while the powerpoint presentation summarizes everything.

Great work here!  This shows the importance/value of the "Target of Opportunity" training.  We can use SuperBlend for most days, but when it really counts for the high impact/windy days,  hit the ADJMAV/CONSMOS guidance harder or start with those guidance packages.
