Panoply Issues for Mac

Hi I'm Courtney Hart, PhD student at UAF in Fisheries. I work on HABs and shellfish. I was having issues with Panoply but haven't watched the tutorials so I'll do that first before asking questions. Thanks

The Panoply install can be tricky. It requires Java 9, Java installations or upgrades typically require admin privileges.

You can check to see if you have Java 9 installed by typing java -version in a terminal window.

If you need to get Java 9, here is a link to an install that has worked for me recently on Mac. It installs Java 11.

Michael has also recommended this Java install:

There are also a few different options for Panoply installs on a Mac. https://www.giss.nasa.gov/tools/panoply/download/

The installed readme file in the downloaded Panoply folder has some helpful troubleshooting information.

Personally, I run the "generic" Linux version and open it with the mac os shell script from the command line.
