AWIPS 23.4.1 (RHEL8) preliminary version available for download

11Oct2024 update -- AWIPS build OB23.4.1 is still undergoing beta testing. We will make the official 23.4.1 release available as soon as it becomes final, but it is unlikely that it will be posted here before the end of calendar year 2024.

Greetings AWIPS Fans! A *preliminary* version of AWIPS 23.4.1 is now available.

AWIPS build OB23.4.1 is built for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8. As of this date, OB23.4.1 is still in beta testing. Since basic maintenance support for RHEL7 ended on 30June2024, a preliminary version of OB23.4.1 is being provided for those who must move off RHEL7 as soon as possible.

The version of OB23.4.1 provided at https://tgftp.nws.noaa.gov/SL.us008001/CU.AWIPS/BK.SCode/ only contains the rpms -- no source code, no documentation, no install scripts, and no "rehosted" code. Regression testing is ongoing. The full version of 23.4.1 is expected within the next several months. Further information will be provided once a more precise date is known.

I know the NWS won't respond with install directions if you contact them, but is there any plan to at least provide a install guide in the future? Right now it's nearly impossibly to download...

Missing Dependencies

for any reasons i put ./ade_quick_install.sh, it fails and lists all of the missing dependencies that was required.
