VLab Forum Members,

The January 2020 VLab Forum will occur on Wednesday the 22nd at 3:00 PM (Eastern Time) and feature a presentation by Mark Glaudemans titled "National Water Model Visualizations: System Design and Initial Services". We hope you can attend. For more information on the talk, please see the details provided below.

If you want to participate in the forum remotely, please register for the webinar. Alternately, you can join us in SSMC-2, Room 10246.

Talk Abstract:

The National Water Center within the NWS Office of Water Prediction has developed an Enterprise GIS system for processing hydrologic analysis and forecast information from the National Water Model and River Forecast Centers. This comprehensive system represents a significant IT architectural deployment that recently began sharing map services internally among the NWS hydrologic community. These evolving visualization services represent a new generation of water resources information that will engender feedback and can be used for internal situational awareness. This talk will describe the development of the Enterprise GIS system and provide an introduction to the map services being provided.

I wish I could attend, but I leave at 3:30, and it would be hardly worth attending a portion.
