Upcoming IRIS 6.7.5 release

Youngling Posts: 199 Join Date: 6/14/11 Recent Posts
Hi Everyone,

I plan to release IRIS 6.7.5 to NCO tomorrow. Attached are the user release notes for this version. I tried to tackle the most pressing items, but had to punt on the lower priority ones due to time constraints.

Also note that the upcoming IRIS 7.x version has been in limbo for a long time. I can finally report with have a direction forward from the Portfolio Integration Council. The 6.x series will be the last of IRIS, with IRIS and iNWS 7.x being officially rebranded to the 'IDSS Management System v1.0', with a major push to get it operational next year!

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the updates. I was curious, do you all have any documentation on what features the new "IDSS Management System v1.0" will feature?

Thanks!

Hi Nick,

We don't have the exact requirements yet, so from a high level perspective:

V 1.0 - Will focus on contacts, communications, and ability to gather impact criteria. Also, will provide a method for our partners to sign up and provide their own contact/impact information into the system.

V 2.0 Will focus on an advanced station log and alerting, both for hazard products and impact thresholds being met.

Beyond that it will incrementally implement new features regularly, until the full set of IDSS requirements (from PMO and AFS) are met.

Thanks,
Matt

Greetings,

Is there an updated timeline for when NCO will install Version 6.7.5?  Still looking forward to seeing the new UGA mesonet sites in IRIS for my CWA.

Thanks,

Don @ TAE

Don,

No, we don't have an estimate on when 6.7.5 will become the operational version.  When a date is known, we will post that information here in the Forum.

Thanks,

Nicholas, I'm hoping to put more info on our IMS google site soon. https://sites.google.com/a/noaa.gov/nws-iris/home(still being tweaked since the google sites "upgrade." Some IMS features are not shareable outside of the developers group at this time but we'll be posting what we can.
