I know this subject has been beaten to death, but I want to mention hourly T problems I saw tonight. I could be wrong (sorry if I am), but it seems that we here at MKX have installed the latest patch to correct issues with the hourly Ts. Unfortunately, they were very noisy in a non diurnal setup again. I've attached images of 3 hours that were particularly problematic along with the SuperBlend MinT for that night.
Given the persistent problems with this and the additional step of needing to collaborate non diurnal setups, it still seems like loading model (or eventually NBM) temps instead of the tool would be a great way to go. Another advantage to this is that the Ts stay in sinc with the Tds, which has the potential to produce better RH values, especially in a precip setup. Thoughts? -Denny
