ISC grid issues

During the collaboration process which occurs after the automated execution of the ForecastBuilder script at 0530 and 1730Z, we have been alerted by adjacent WFOs that our temperature and dewpoint ISC grids are assigned values of -100, with uniform zero-value ISC grids for sky, wind and PoP.   I'm not sure if this observation is simply coincidental or an issue that is being created, in part, by ForecastBuilder. Has anyone else experienced or heard of similar database issues?

Thanks,

Corey (OAX)

Corey,

I have been following your issue there at OAX. As far as I can tell it is isolated to your office. My recommendations:

  • Ensure your ITO has completed CR16-034 tech order
  • Check any ISC information in your localConfig.py file is correct
  • restart EDEX on dx3 and dx4  (remember everyone to log out of GFE prior to this process otherwise you get the annoying missing model database AlertViz messages)

If these don't solve the problem, it's worth a call to NCF. The values you mention suggest the grids that are being sent with the cron population are corrupt.

Hi Andy,

I appreciate the information.  We have completed CR16-034, and it doesn't appear that anything has been recently modified in the localConfig.py file.  Do you happen to know specifically which parts of the configuration file would potentially contribute to this problem?  EDEX has been restarted on dx3/4 on a number of occasions, and I opened up a ticket with NCF this past Friday.  An additional piece of information that I failed to mention in my previous post is that ISC grids outside of the ForecastBuilder time period are also being affected.  So that would suggest that there is something else going on.
