Personal Weather Station Dew Points

Is there a way for me to blacklist dew points/moisture by default for all APRSWXNET and Synoptic/Davis stations in my CWA (BMX), including future sites that pop up? I continue to submit blacklist requests, but honestly it feels like I'm playing "whack a mole" as more sites with bad moisture data keep popping up. The high dew points at these sites continues to overwhelm the high quality ASOS data, bumping up URMA dew points by 3-4 degrees. These have downstream impacts on NBM dew points, and a 3-4 degree dew point difference can make a big difference in heat indices reaching advisory/warning criteria or not. We shouldn't be trusting these data sources by default for dew points.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for reaching out.  At this point, there is no immediate opportunity to make a science change to RTMA/URMA to reject dewpoint/moisture observations from individual providers by default.  We are in an implementation moratorium as NCO prepares to transition the production suite to NIMBUS, the Google cloud supercomputer.  Furthermore, we must evaluate this change across the entire domain.

What we can do in the meantime is use the Synoptic Data API query tool to identify all CWOP and Synoptic/DAVIS stations in the BMX area.  We can provide further guidance on how to do this, if you desire.  The following are my findings for the CWOP stations:

Stations to be flagged are: ['C3508', 'AS135', 'D4421', 'AW520', 'G4749', 'G6974', 'G7151', 'G7292', 'G7458']

Since the Synoptic/DAVIS stations are restricted, I will follow-up with you individually regarding those stations and let you know when the identified stations are added to the reject list.
