WSUP Viewer v7.1 Release

WSUP Viewer v7.1 was released on 02/29/2024. Please see release notes below.

New Features: 

  • Map Display:

    • “All” precip type display feature enables users option to see probabilities for each precip type on map together

    • Double-clicking the 2nd vertical slider in dProg/dt mode loads all projections for the associated cycle. This supports easy dProg/dt access to earlier model inits than fit on the slider at the same time

    • Clicking on a lat/lon in Custom Sample Points tool centers map on clicked lat/lon

    • New wind rose tool accessed from the right menu bar on the map viewer shows the count of NBM model components or GEFS members with speeds greater than or equal to 8kts from each octant at station locations

    • Climatological context maps and distributions are now available for QPF06, Snow01, and Snow06

    • Probability distribution pop-up box plots for QMD elements at a gridpoint can be displayed with a CTRL+click. Pop-up plots are retained until cleared by hitting ESC (all) or X (single plot).

  • Point Vis:

    • Forecast projection hour from NBM init time now shown on x-label

Fixes and Tweaks:  

  • Dark Mode:

    • A dark mode option that works with the OS browser setting. Dark mode can be toggled from the lower left corner of each viewer

  • Map Display:

    • Custom threshold probabilities are now retained when changing forecast projection and in dProg/dt mode

    • The i,j cursor coordinates start at 1,1 instead of 0,0

  • Point Vis:

    • QPF06 can now be selected to view on the top chart

    • Accumulated QPF and Accumulated Snow in dProg/dt mode now show how accumulations for a valid time have changed from previous runs

    • Snow and Ice components are now only selectable when looking at bias corrected components (toggle on)

  • 1D:

    • CSV format available as download file option (in addition to JSON) under settings

  • New Texas stations (added on 12/14/2023 just after the v7.0 release):

    • KLLN (Levelland Municipal Airport)

    • KE57 (Denver City Airport)

    • 6TE6 (6666 Ranch Airport)

    • KLUV (Lamesa Municipal Airport)
