Training on Component Point Visualization - Forums - Whole Story Uncertainty & Probabilities Viewer

We currently don't have any documentation outlining the charts in the point visualization. We are planning on putting together this information to help users. However, I discussed it during the VLab Forum last September - you can find that here https://youtu.be/DiJjpM7slec?t=584

What you're seeing in the lower right corner is the violin plot of the instantaneous distribution of the NBM components (or members if you're on GEFS) of the points in the top graph as highlighted by the vertical black line. It allows for quick interpretation of forecast certainty with a forecast being more certain if more components are clustered within the distribution. 

With the NBM QPF components, we're looking at the sources that go into the core NBM QPF 06 grids. Unfortunately, due to the availability of the components for QPF, this is all we are able to plot at this time. There are more components that go into the NBM QPF forecast, but they are not currently stored in a manner in which we can extract them.
