Can a few base maps be ungrayed so you can turn them off when doing verification?

Hi, In IRIS, when you want to do verification you can't ungray a few items

1. Select the Verification tab at the bottom

2. Select Map Data

3. The following 3 items are grayed out, and you can't turn them off:

MRMS Base Reflectivity

MRMS Composite Reflectivity

MRMS Echo Tops

So the reflectivity image always shows when I am doing verification, especially in real time.

Is there anyway from those items to be ungrayed so you can turn them off if you like?

I try to send an image too.

There is a ticket open for that issue. No estimate on when it will be addressed.

Jim,

I toggle off the MRMS Base Reflectivity by clicking on the yellow product legend on the right hand side of the window. So you go from this:

To this:

Notice the product is now greyed out and no longer shows up on the map.

Hi Phil,

Thanks for the tip.

Here is what is interesting.

I don't have an option to turn off MRMS when I am on the verification tab. However, when I am on the cities Tab I do have that option.

So, I can just turn off the MRMS in the cities tab first, then go over to the verification tab and do my verification.

I am sending 2 screenshots, one of the cities tab and one of the verification tab.

That is interesting! I admit I do not use the verification aspect of IRIS that much. My go to is the DLH Severe Verification Helper:
