VLab Forum Members,

The January 2023 VLab Forum will occur on Thursday, the 26th, at 3:35 PM – 4:35 PM (Eastern Time). The talk features a presentation titled "Results from the OPG Hosted Probabilistic Think Tank" which is being presented by John Brost. We hope you can attend.

To participate in the forum, please register for the webinar.

Abstract:

I will discuss the reasoning (background), design, and outcomes for the probabilistic Think Tank hosted by the OPG. Our think tank was comprised of 12 subject matter experts who spent 4 days brainstorming tools, methods, and workflows for a probabilistic operational environment. The OPG intends to test the ideas in FY23 and subsequent years. I will spend a majority of the time talking through the workflows designed by the participants and describe how the OPG plans to test these workflows in coming years.

Agenda:

You can find the agenda for the Forum at the following link:

Talk Focus and R2O State:

  • NWS Talk describe capabilities/functionality useful in NWS weather forecast office operations
  • Research Transition (laboratory work with clear R2O potential)
