Hello,
Thanks for contacting us regarding RTMA data. As you noted, The National Weather Service (NWS) NOMADS website does not maintain an archive of model data output. Only 2-10 days of data is retained on depending on the specific model. There are, however, several outside parties who actively support an archive for a number of model datasets.

NCEI: https://www.ncei.noaa.gov/products/weather-climate-models/national-digital-guidance-database (ncei.orders@noaa.gov)
AWS (NOAA Big Data Program) https://registry.opendata.aws/collab/noaa/
UCAR https://data.ucar.edu/en/

The NWS does not support or maintain these external sources, and only certain model resolutions and/or variables may be available. Please reach out to the individual website host for any issues you may encounter.

Thanks,
Margaret Curtis

To whom it may concern,

Hope everything is going well. I am a researcher from San Diego State University working with Dr. Sam Shen on wind data from NOAA (https://nomads.ncep.noaa.gov/txt_descriptions/RTMA_doc.shtml). This website only contains data up to 10 days, however as we progress, we are in need of data for a longer period of time (several months, or as long as possible).

We would like to know whether there is a way to get the data for an extended period of time. Could you give us some feedback on this?

Thanks,
Tingting
