        A modest science change was made to the FV3GFS late last week to address an issue with tropical cyclone intensity being too weak.     This change to an advection scheme setting was tested over two test seasons and showed significant improvement to tropical cyclone intensity, while not causing much change to overall synoptic skill.

        The criteria used to justify the change will be presented at tomorrow's MEG meeting.
