Greetings,

WFO Tallahassee has quite a few obs missing from its Obs Monitor on IRIS.  Below is a list of airports that are missing but should be in there.  Is there any chance these can be restored?  Thanks!

KDHN (ASOS)
KAAF (ASOS)
KPAM (AWOS)
KBCR (ASOS)
KFPY (AWOS)
KF95 (AWOS, this one is new but we'd like it added if possible)
KTMA (AWOS)
KMGR (AWOS)
KBGE (AWOS)
K17J (AWOS)
KSXS (AWOS)
KLOR (AWOS)
KHEY (AWOS)
KOZR (AWOS)
KVLD (ASOS)

Don,

Check Obs Monitor now.  Here is how I fixed the issue - Click on Find/Edit Stations on the lower left side of the Obs Monitor perspective.  Enter the ID in the SID in the upper left and then click Find Station.  If IRIS has the metadata for that site, the text boxes below will update with the information for that site.  Click on Update Station to add it back to your listing.

This may have occurred because of the Collective switch that occurred yesterday.  Other sites may run into the same issue.  The instructions in the previous paragraph should be attempted if a site is missing any AWOS/ASOS data (or mesonet data).

Thanks,

Hi Mike,

Thanks, it looks like they are all back again except for the KF95 one, which is brand new.  I followed the steps and got its metadata entered from https://www.weather.gov/wrh/timeseries?site=KF95&hours=72.  I tried entering it both as AWOS and MESOWEST, but it did not appear.  Do we need to do something else for that one site to get it into IRIS since it's new?  I figured since it's on the WRH page that there might be an easy way to get it into IRIS too.

Thanks again for your help!  I made a note of those steps in our log for future reference if it happens again.

Don,

Since that is a new observation, the metadata in IRIS may need to be updated before that can be ingested.  I will check into that.

Thanks,
ms
