Range Ring Suggestion

Would it be possible to add range rings in addition to the custom points (so it would be a lat/lon plus a radius)?  We are looking at using WSUP for tropical coordination, and range rings would allow users to capture the radius of maximum winds at each forecast time step to see if the NBM circulation is within the radius of maximum winds and would be a good candidate for background winds.

Range rings might also enable users to use WSUP for additional IDSS purposes (for example, if there's an outdoor event watching a specific radius for some kind of hazard).

I feel like I've seen something like this before, so if I'm missing something that already exists, please let me know.

Thanks,

Brian

Hi Brian,

Thank you for the suggestion! I think that we may be able to do this without too much trouble.

Am I on the right track with the mock-up below? You want to be able to set a circle and have it display the radius, yes?

The thought I have is to expand the drawing tools to have the circle contain the radius in the label.

Does that track?
