Apostrophe in contact email causes IRIS Uploader to fail

Youngling Posts: 2 Join Date: 5/1/15 Recent Posts

We have a Core Partner contact that we'd like to add to IRIS using the contact uploader. Their email has an apostrophe in the address which causes an error and the uploader to fail. The email is a valid address (we have sent emails through Gmail to this person before) but appears to be a problem for the uploader. I attached the semi-colon separated file used in the uploader, but I've generalized or altered any PII. The email address is in the form of d'andre.lastname@company.com. Is there some escape character or other formatting that I can use to make it work? Any help would be appreciated!

Error during upload:

In data row 1: invalid email address (d'andre.lastname@company.com): please check it again, and, if you believe that this message is in error, report the email address to the IRIS Development Team so that they can analyze the cause of the problem.

Contacts before the given data row were saved; contacts after the given data row were ignored.

Chris,

I was able to manually add a contact with an apostrophe in the email address just now.  That may be the easiest workaround for this situation.

NOTE:  I did not try to send an email to my test contact - I would consider this to be an unverified fix until this is tested.

Thanks,
