WSUP Viewer v5.1 Release

WSUP Viewer v5.1 was released on 11/21/2022. Please see version notes below.

New Features:

  • Map Display:

    • Critical ranges on color curves highlighted via the >= icon on the right menu bar

    • Latest NDFD day 4-7 forecasts displayed for inits between 00z, 06z, 12z, 18z, and 22z issuance times

    • Deltas in comparison tool to compare versions for NBM-specific elements

    • Selection menu shading for elements available in comparison tool dataset 

    • NWS CONUS regions as domain choice

    • Updated Public Forecast Zones shapefile

    • Removal of URL shortener tool due to the retirement of go.usa service

  • Point Vis:

    • GEFS BC shear magnitude as an element selection 

Bug Fixes:

  • Map Display:

    • Basemap can now be changed

    • Layers to support wind speed and direction deltas in NDFD Oceanic mapfiles

    • Proper display of Alaska and CONUS terrain contours

    • RTMA/URMA station-based wind barbs now shown in comparison window

    • Basemap opacity and dither method improved on animated GIFs

    • Proper cursor sampling of precip duration element
