Hi Everyone,
iNWS has been fixed as of
1500 UTC this morning, to prevent the alerting of county-based alert
areas when a warning polygon extends into an unwarned county. There
is no more 3% rule either (that was causing small polygons not to be alerted).
The new algorithm first
finds every potential alert area overlapped by the warning polygon.
Next, it looks at those which are county-based, and removes the ones
in which the alert area's UGC code is not in the UGC codes of the
product. Note that this only applies for county-based warnings and
county-based alert areas, nothing else is affected.
Thanks,
Matt
