WSUP Viewer v4.1 was
released on 11/4/2021. Please see version notes below.
New Features:
-
Map Display:
-
Colors for wind direction now match those shown on NDFD
websites which take both speed and direction into account
-
NDFD WWA hazard element is now included
-
Cursor readout now provides unified NBM/NDFD/RTMA terrain
height. Unified terrain contours in thousands of feet are now
available as a GIS overlay.
-
QMD Precipitation elements have been added for Hawaii in NBM v4.1
-
User-specified Data Overlay selections (e.g., contours, wind
barbs) under Map View Options are now preserved when the
dataset is changed between NBM versions and NDFD. They are
also preserved when the dataset is changed between GEFS BC and
GEFS Raw. They are not preserved when the dataset is changed
from NBM or NDFD to GEFS, or vice-versa. They are also not
preserved when the domain is changed. Map View Options other
than Data Overlays are retained for any dataset, version, or
domain changes. GIS Overlay options also are always retained.
-
Point Vis:
-
Current NDFD and WIC records are now available on GEFS
displays in addition to NBM displays
-
Dprog/dt mode for Accumulated QPF now shows QPF06 instead of
accumulations over variable-length periods
-
X-axis has been extended left to make first period forecasts
more visible for elements valid over multiple hours
-
Y-axis more cleanly redraws when expanded to reveal WIC
records outside the default plot range
-
Stations for which WIC records are available are now
distinguished by blue color on the map selector
-
Year that the WIC record occurred is now included on the
mouseover display
Bug Fixes:
-
Map Display:
-
The cursor readout now correctly samples pixels on initial
page load. Formerly it sampled pixels ~27km to the west on
initial page load.
-
NBM sky cover std dev values now sample correctly
-
When switching from a non-hourly NDFD cycle (:30) to NBM or
GEFS, the corresponding hourly (:00) NBM cycle is now loaded
rather than the very latest cycle
