CSV Template to import new impacts into Manage Impacts?

Hi,

Our office would like to try and automate the addition of new DSS requests into IRIS via the manage impacts function.  I figured we could use the "import" feature to bring in a .csv file with all metadata related to the DSS event.  Ideally, we'd like to eliminate having to manually go through the steps of creating a new impact, and instead just import the .csv containing that information. I attempted to export a .csv of an impact we created in order to acquire a "template" to see the column header syntax.

However, the exported .csv only contains 9 headers that read from left to right (Object, Start Date, End Date, End Time, All Day Event, Description, Location, Private).  We were confused as to why there is no headers for any of the other options we CAN choose when setting up an impact manually (e.g. thresholds, calendar event, location, contacts,  miscellaneous, etc.).

In an older IRIS training video on manage impacts (version 6.4), it was mentioned that the import function was currently "not formatted correctly, and may be removed all together".  Is this statement still valid? Is the import function in manage impacts still under development? Or can you provide a .csv template with the correct column header syntax so we can automate adding new DSS requests as new impacts?

Thank you!

Hi Nick,

The importation of impacts doesn't currently work. I missed removing that option. In addition, we advise against creating new impacts at this point, because upcoming versions of this functionality will be greatly enhanced, and the impacts in the legacy IRIS may not be able to translate directly. We'll
do our best to migrate them, but the upcoming functionality will be fundamentally different and much more flexible.

Thanks,
Matt

Hi Matt,

Thanks for the update and clarification. We will wait for 7.0 to drop then!

Thanks,
